Eikostate

Eikostate

Bio

Nobody would think that a band such as Eikostate could originate from a place like Barcelona,
Spain. A mix of rock and traditional Japanese music and catchy melodies is not something you can
find today, as radio stations swamp your ears with Emo wave.

- “We could take the same train as other bands and start playing Emo or Screamo”- state the
members of the band- “but we’d be following the same path that other bands have taken and
squeezed. We decided to lock ourselves into our rehearsal studio for the necessary time to get what we wanted to get, sacrificing our desire to play live”-

Two years of creative and personal effort, not being able to play live, spending their time on
rehearsals, some band member changes, and the difficulty of finding a record label, ended up with
what the band was looking for.

Many prestigious producers showed interest in Eikostate: Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson,
Sevendust, Disturbed), Ulrich Wild (Statix-X, Deftones), Sylvia Massy ( R.E.M, Red Hot Chilli
Peppers, Tool, Deftones)

Don Casale (Iron Butterfly, Vanilla Fudge, Rascals, Gold & Platinum records, Grammy Award
nominated), was interested in the former band, so he showed interest in Eikostate as well. “I was
drawn to the band on a number of levels: the music, the musicianship, the stage presence, and the
sheer power of the songs! I just couldn’t stay away. It was time to get involved.”

Finally Eikostate got a contract with “Spinning Inc.” in Japan, who believes in the band.
This made it easier to find a good publisher, a major, Universal Publishing Spain.
Now they are here, Roger (drums), Eloi (guitar & programming), Luis (Bass) and David (Vocals),
ready to rock!.

Their debut album, “Tribute to perseverance” (release date TBA) is riddled with catchy melodies and the strength of the best rock music, mixed with the infinity of traditional
Japanese instruments, giving a very special and personal atmosphere to their songs.

Eikostate’s first single and song for its first video-clip is called “A Life Less Painful”.
-“This song is dedicated to a very good friend of ours. It’s about the pain he was going through
during a time of his life, which made him vanish off the face of the earth.
He enclosed himself into a dark hole which many people wouldn’t be able to get out of, and how by
his efforts to renew, he deserves a better life, a life less painful.”-

Self produced by the band and mixed by Drew Mazurek (Linkin Park, HIM), Eikostate, with its first album, “Tribute to perseverance”, is not going to leave anyone indifferent.
